Erik Lehnsherr the basics full name • Erik Lehnsherr nicknames • Magneto age • Thirty two years birthday • 06/09 occupation • Mutant savior/ labeled terrorist affiliation • Brotherhood of mutants gender • Male sexuality • Gay the appearance face claim • Michael Fassbender height and weight • 6 feet and 2 inches & 190 lbs identifying features • Erik has a tattoo saying #24005 on his wrist overall appearance • Erik is a lean man with a strong appearance and a steely aura of command. Erik has clear green eyes and brown hair, which he keeps neat and trimmed. It is obvious that he looks after his body and exercises daily on a daily basis. While it’s clear Erik shaves often, he usually have at least a very slight stubble, giving him an ever so slightly rugged look. Most of the time, Erik wears fine, well-tailored clothes if possible, otherwise something neutral when he is out of his armor. Erik’s armor is one of the things he has become the most famous; in fact, it is his trademark, one could say. There is never any doubt who he is when he appears in the reddish armor with padded boots and gloves with the crimson cape. His true trademark however, is his psychic protection helmet, made by Magneto himself to protect his mind. The helmet resembles a mixture of a roman helmet and a crown with a pair of horns emerging along the metal just between his brows. When Magneto wears his full set of armor, the only thing that remains uncovered is his face. the personality *likes • Chess, mutant happiness, wine and classical music. *dislikes • Bigotry, racism, senseless killing, Death Metal. *strengths • Erik is not afraid to take action and holds great conviction for his beliefs. He also has an Iron will and is stubborn to a fault. *weaknesses • While Erik is slow to anger, when he is angered he tends to go overboard, He can be too zealous at times. *dreams • To one day create a mutant utopia for all mutants on earth. *fears • To see the cruelty and monstrous actions akin to the Nazi extermination programs applied to mutants. overall personality • Erik is a man who leads. He possesses that natural aura of leadership and the indomitable will and confidence that makes others follow him. However, Erik is not much interested in true friendship. Erik is a passionate man who keeps hold of his ideals and beliefs about how the world should be, and is not afraid to set things in motion to make those ideals a reality. He is a stoic man and a warrior who believes that you have to fight to survive, a belief originated from his time in the death camps during Nazi rule. He holds many painful memories, and sees his own experiences as proof of what humanity is capable of towards those who a different, giving him a burning desire to spare mutant kind from such horrors. However, he does not believe in being the first to strike, though he is more than ready to take preemptive, non violent measures to prepare for when humanity makes the first real move. the abilities Special abilities • Magnetickinesis Erik possesses comprehensive control of all forms of magnetism and utilizes this control to manipulate ferrous metals and achieve a variety of effects. Erik can manipulate the entire planet's electromagnetic field though tasks of such a scale requires great effort on his part. He has used magnetism to stop armies and could potentially raise islands from the ocean floor, move mountains, change the course of rivers and more. In theory he could blanket the entire globe with a self-generated electromagnetic pulse that would cause widespread devastation. Further more, Erik can use his magnetic powers in more than one way simultaneously. He can completely assemble a complicated machine within seconds through his powers. --Magnetic Force-Fields: Erik can protect himself with a personal electromagnetic force field that he can quickly expand to protect large areas of up to miles with enough focus and time. His force field can potentially withstand the effects of multiple nuclear weapons, volcanic eruptions and the depths of space. Erik can also use his force fields to hit or trap an enemy, and also levitate objects and beings in the air. --Magnetic Armor: In addition to the external force fields, Erik is capable of reinforcing the metallic fibers of his uniform with magnetic fields, making his clothing like armor with a durability potentially approaching adamantium. --Magnetic Rays: While Erik is still learning many things about his powers, once he learns how, he has the ability to shoot powerful rays and electromagnetic pulses, which potentially could destroy both metallic and nonmetallic objects. --Magnetic Flight: Erik is also able to sustain flight over very long distances and at varying speeds. He has several ways to achieve flight, one is by riding along the planet's natural magnetic lines, another by simply creating a repulsive force between himself and the planet, propelling himself in this way. --Geomagnetic Link: While not a power as much as a constant state, Erik is tied very closely to Earth's EM Field. As it is effected, so is he. He would instinctively know all that happens to it. --Metal/Matter Manipulation: Erik can manipulate metal at the atomic level and make it take different forms as he sees fit. Erik can potentially also indirectly manipulate non-metallic objects via metal ores they may contain. --Metal bonding: Erik possesses the power to atomically bond metallic substances which is how he made his armor and helmet. --Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation:: Although Erik's primary power revolves around magnetism, he is also capable of projecting or manipulate any form of energy within the electromagnetic spectrum. Though this is extremely tiring for him, and thus he primarily sticks to magnetism. He can potentially shoot and absorb bolts of electricity and other forms of electromagnetic radiation or energy, create intense heat as infrared radiation, and become invisible by deflecting visible light around his body. Infrared radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which also includes visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet light, gamma rays, and x-rays, thus Erik is able to project any of these to some extent, though doing so dramatically tires him. Weaknesses • Physical Condition Erik's ability to wield his powers effectively is dependent upon his physical condition. When severely injured, his body is unable to withstand the strain of manipulating magnetic energy. When his powers are not at their peak, he also appears to have greater difficulty utilizing his magnetism for great feats. He is also susceptible to physical and mental fatigue that can ultimately affect his ability to adequately use his powers, especially if he overuses or extends them in a short amount of time. Mental Illness Unbeknown to Erik, he has a propensity for mental illness and depression. They will most likely manifest as literal "bi-polar" tendencies which may be a natural side effect of his powers. Skills • Telepathic Resistance: Erik has trained himself and been trained by Charles Xavier extensively for fighting telepaths, and is resistant to telepathic attacks. His resistance is further augmented with the aid of his helmet, strong will and his own electromagnetic powers. --Genius-level Intellect: A mastermind, Erik is a genius in various scientific fields. He could quickly become an expert in robotic- and genetic engineering and mutation, with knowledge easily on par with contemporary experts in the same fields. His potential discoveries in particle physics could revolutionize the field and place him among the giants of scientific history as well. --Military Training: Erik has more than a rudimentary knowledge of hand-to-hand combat. --Excellent Strategist: is an excellent strategist, tactician, and skilled leader. --Multilingual: Erik is fluent in English, French, Polish, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Ukrainian, German, and Yiddish. --Indomitable Will: Erik has an incredibly strong will and is willing to do whatever the cost to reach whatever goal he sets for himself. the history *father • Jakob Eisenhardt (deceased) *mother • Edie Eisenhardt (deceased) *siblings • Ruth Eisenhardt (sister, deceased); *important people • Charles Exavier, Raven Darkholme, Moira MacTaggert hometown • Nuremberg, Germany Overall history • Erik was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and his family moved to Poland where they stayed until Nazi soldiers took them away. In 1944, Nazi soldiers at the Auschwitz concentration camp forcibly separated Erik from his parents. During this traumatic experience, Erik, under heavy mental duress, manifested his powers for the first time. This spectacular event caught the attention of a Dr. Klaus Schmidt, who sought to use Erik’s amazing abilities. In an attempt to unlock and draw out those abilities, Schmidt killed Erik’s mother in front of him. Later, after the war ended, Erik had first moved to America, but disillusioned with the “land of freedom” went to Europe in an attempt to find and kill Schmidt as revenge for both the torture and training he put Erik through as well as killing Erik’s mother. Erik eventually caught up with Schmidt, but his attempt at revenge were botched due to some of Schmidt’s cohorts from the Group the Hellfire club, Erik being no challenge for their mutant abilities. It was at this point that he met Charles Xavier, Raven Darkholme and Moira MacTaggert, who were present as part of a just as botched attempt to capture Schmidt by the US. Coastguard. Xavier and Erik, with the backing of C.I.A, gathered a team of mutant teenagers to fight against the Hellfire Club and Schmidt, who was attempting to ignite a nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the United States. All as part of a convoluted plot to eradicate non-mutant life on Earth and thus rule over a new world for mutants. During the training of the mutant group, Xavier helped the teens master their mutant powers, including Erik. It was during this time that the two became close friends. However, Erik was still filled with hatred for Schmidt and feared a mutant holocaust, despite Xavier's attempts to convince him to let go of his hatred. Ultimately, Xavier and Erik’s team learned of Schmidt’s whereabouts and decided to jump into action in order to prevent the Cuban Missile Crisis from causing World War III. During this confrontation, Erik found and confronted Schmidt, who attempted to convince Erik to join his side with promises of a new, mutant world order. Although Erik agreed with Schmidt's goals and ideas, he refused to forgive Schmidt for murdering his mother. Despite Xavier's pleads for Erik to be the better man, Erik killed Schmidt by magnetically pushing a coin through his brain while Xavier kept Schmidt motionless to protect Erik. Afterwards, much to Erik’s momentary surprise, the United States and the Soviet Union struck up an impromptu alliance in order to destroy the mutant threat, as they perceived it. Erik easily used his magnetic powers to deflect the missiles back towards the fleets. However, Xavier, furious with Erik’s disregard for life, tackled him and the two engaged in a fistfight, which managed to distract Erik long enough to prevent the missiles from striking the fleets. During the fistfight, Moria MacTaggert attempted to shoot Erik in order to stop him, but one of the bullets that was deflected by Erik struck Xavier in the lower back, permanently crippling him. Horrified at what had transpired, Erik bid his close friend farewell, sparing the remaining team members of Xavier and his former team, Erik departed with Raven and the remaining Hellfire Club members with the vow of destroying humankind if necessary in order to save mutant kind. Erik then declared that his new name was "Magneto" and with former Hellfire Club members, he established his first Brotherhood of Mutants. Things went well for Erik in the turbulent times that followed, gaining more and more power, studying and learning about his own powers, Erik gained a lot of influence within the mutant society. However, some did not share his vision, and fearing that Erik would be like any other dictator, a young mutant attacked Erik during one of his rallies, trying to disintegrate him with her powers. A bolt struck Erik and to the onlookers, he really seemed to disintegrate as he disappeared in a flash. However, the young mutant had misunderstood her powers, unable to learn what they truly did, she had unwittingly sent Erik to the present day. Confused, Erik spent some months reading and studying these new times as he slowly gathered what had happened. Learning that his present-day- self had disappeared and that the Brotherhood had been left in shambles, Erik saw his chance to take over and lead the Brotherhood as it should be lead. Taking on the name Joseph Lehnsherr, Erik is posing as his own unknown son, and has spread the word that the Brotherhood is not finished, that the last defeat was but a setback, that Magneto is not gone. Soon, the first Rally will take place, and Mutant kind shall learn that there is still hope. the role player alias • Doctormichael *age • 22 *pronouns • He is fine ^^ *other characters • Not yet |
